Public tenders for international training are a commendable activity of the Ana Rukavina Foundation because there is no systematic training within the healthcare system for young hematologists. By providing funding, the Foundation provides a continuing opportunity for young physicians to educate abroad, thereby opening unprecedented opportunities for physicians to advance professionally.

Going to the US was a dream come true thanks to the support of the Ana Rukavina Foundation. The foundation recognized the importance of investing in young doctors and I was one of the lucky ones to get the opportunity.

The funds allocated by the Ana Rukavina Foundation for professional training abroad are a true investment in the future of Croatian healthcare. These educations are an excellent opportunity for young doctors, but also a great contribution to the future of the entire Croatian healthcare system.

Professional training is an absolute necessity and even more of a necessity in an area such as hematology, especially in methods that are developing as rapidly as bone marrow transplantation. There was no similar organization in Croatia before, and the Ana Rukavina Foundation provided young hematologists with a unique opportunity to gain new knowledge, thus improving care for hematology patients.

I believe that these forms of education are the most significant ways of establishing long-term education, which will leave a lasting mark in the way of considering possible approaches in the treatment of the patient and their implementation.

The Foundation’s public tenders make a major contribution to the personal professional development of the grantees, the environment in which they work and the well-being of the patients they treat – thus a contribution of great importance to the environment in which we live.
