With a concert for life, we celebrate Ana’s birthday, we remember maestro Vjekoslav \u0160utej, and in their honor – we celebrate life!<\/p>\n
In memory of Ana Rukavina and maestro Vjekoslav \u0160utej, we invite you to the twelfth Concert for Life, which will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, starting at 7:30 p.m. under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Zoran Milanovi\u0107 and under the auspices of the Mayor of the City of Zagreb, Mr. Tomislav Toma\u0161evi\u0107.<\/p>\n
At the Concert for Life in the Off cycle, the Zagreb Philharmonic will perform with the program “Oriental Nights” under the direction of conductor Ton\u010di Bili\u0107.<\/p>\n
The program will include the following works:<\/p>\n
Camille Saint-Saens: “Bacchanalle” Op. 47, from the opera Samson and Delilah<\/p>\n
Petar Ilyich Tchaikovsky: “Arab Dance” from the Nutcracker ballet<\/p>\n
Giuseppe Verdi: “Ballet” scene from the opera Aida<\/p>\n
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: “The Legend of Prince Kalender” \u2013 2nd movement from the symphony suite Scheherazade, op.35<\/p>\n
“Prince and Princess” \u2013 3rd movement from the symphonic suite Scheherazade, op.35<\/p>\n
Richard Strauss: “Salome’s Dance” (Dance of the Seven Veils), from the opera Salome<\/p>\n
Aram Khachaturian: Three dances from the suite “Gayane” – Saber dance, Aysha’s dance, Lezghinka<\/p>\n
Alan Menken: “Aladdin”, selection from the suite – Arabian Nights, One Jump Ahead Reprise, Friend Like Me, A Whole New World, Prince Ali<\/p>\n
