On World Blood Cancer Day, May 28, we held an event in Pore\u010d, in the area of \u200b\u200bthe Valamar Diamant Hotel, where the citizens of Pore\u010d once again showed their humane side and responded in large numbers, and enriched the Croatian Register of Voluntary Donors of Hematopoietic Stem Cells with 402 new potential donors.\u00a0The Ana Rukavina Foundation held this registration campaign in the Croatian register to help find a matching unrelated donor for a two-year-old boy suffering from acute myeloid leukemia and in memory of the girl Lana who unfortunately left us too soon, but also for all sick people who are waiting for their matching donor.\u00a0We are touched, happy and grateful that such a large number of people beat for three hours with one heart full of love, emotions and desire to help their little fellow citizen.\u00a0The father of the sick boy was also at the event, he helped with the registration, hiding his emotions when he saw the sea of \u200b\u200bcitizens standing and patiently waiting in line. He thanked to all the citizens who came to register and help his son. He thanked Ana Rukavina’s mother, Marija Rukavina, the Ana Rukavina Foundation, the City of Pore\u010d and its citizens, the Management of the Diamant Valamar Hotel, all the employees of the Valamar Hotel, and all the doctors and medical personnel who take care of his two-year-old son.\u00a0We are extremely grateful to Mrs. Sanja Krizmani\u0107 for the initiative to organize the joint action of the Ana Rukavina Foundation and Hotel Valamar. We thank the Diamant Valamar Hotel Management for their exceptional support. We would like to thank Dr. Dijana Beakovi\u0107 and nurses Sabrina Turkovi\u0107, Jelena Momi\u0107, Melanija Buljan, Sarah Jurkovi\u0107 Levak and Dona Banovi\u0107 who selflessly helped us in taking samples, and a special big thank you to our nurse D\u017eena, who has been with us for all 18 years of the Foundation’s activity and work.\u00a0We thank everyone who responded, rushing from work or to work, with babies in strollers, or children in hand, with spouses, current or future, alone or with a friend and selflessly put a part of themselves at the disposal of someone who will be grateful to them for it forever.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
