At the award ceremony for the award \u201cLuka Ritz\u201d – Violence is Not Courage, which was held yesterday in Zagreb at the Old City Hall, awards were given to Luka Mihali\u0107, posthumously, and volunteer Barbara Rubini\u0107.<\/p>\n
The award \u201cLuka Ritz\u201d – Violence is Not Courage is awarded to students from the 5th to 8th grades and from the 1st to 4th grades of Zagreb\u2019s elementary and secondary schools, respectively, for their significant contribution to the affirmation of human rights, exceptional tolerance and promotion of peace, freedom and equality among their peers.<\/p>\n
Young Luka Mihali\u0107 died last July after a battle with leukemia, but despite his severe illness he wanted to help all those who had found themselves in a similar situation. It was at his initiative that we organized two actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors.<\/p>\n
The first action was held in March at Luka\u2019s primary school, Titu\u0161 Brezova\u010dki, in \u0160pansko. A total of 77 potential donors, the parents of Luka\u2019s schoolmates and famous athletes came to support the school\u2019s and Luka\u2019s request for help. The second action was held at the Bukovac Primary School, where 45 potential donors joined the Registry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
