The sales exhibition of works of art has been organized and opened by the Lions Club Zrinjevac at the Zagreb City Museum. The exhibit closes on May 11, 2008. The proceeds will go to the \u201cEverything for Her\u201d Society, an organization for women suffering from and treated for breast cancer.<\/p>\n
The society was established on March 21, 2008 in Zagreb. Aside from the activities aimed at raising awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer, the primary function of the society is to focus on the many types of aid that are essential to every woman from the moment the breast cancer is diagnosed, to the operation, during the time of therapeutic treatment, and until final and complete rehabilitation is achieved.<\/p>\n
Every year in Croatia, 2250 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, and unfortunately, 850 of them die each year. It is especially concerning that the age of those affected is moving towards a younger population \u2013 as was stated during the presentation of the national program for early detection of breast cancer in Croatia at the 8th EUROPA DONNA Pan-European Conference, held in Amsterdam in October 2007.<\/p>\n
The remarkable president of the society, Vesna Andrijevi\u0107-Matovac, Ph.D., emphasized that \u201cYour unselfish help is always welcome as it will help our society \u201cEverything for Her\u201d to succeed in fulfilling the established goals on the brave path we have set out on. Only with love and with our hearts open to our fellow human being, in doing Everything for Her, we also do everything for ourselves\u201d.<\/p>\n
