The \u201cZlatno Srce\u201d Association from Zabok has donated 5,000 kuna to the Ana Rukavina Foundation to carry out HLA tissue typing of blood samples from voluntary stem cell donors!<\/p>\n
Again this year, the Association for the Fight against Cancer \u201cZlatno Srce\u201d organized the action \u201cDaffodil Days\u201d with all of the kindergartens, primary and secondary schools on March 26. They gathered and sold the daffodils for 1 kuna each. Each daffodil means hope for a cancer patient.<\/p>\n
The \u201cZlatno Srce\u201d Association was established on December 17, 2001 in Zabok for Krapina-Zagorje County and until now it has organized a number of educational activities for the residents about the importance of the early detection of cancer. They have organized a number of humanitarian actions, concerts, daffodil days, a small gastronomy festival in Zagorje and painting auctions. The funds raised are intended to purchase medical equipment for early cancer detection.<\/p>\n
We are truly grateful to the president of the Association, Mrs. \u0160tefanija Kereste\u0161, and all of the Association’s activists for this valuable donation which will enable us to tissue type five blood samples from stem cell donors. After undergoing HLA tissue typing, the names and details of the donors will be entered into the Registry\u2019s database where their tissue type can be compared with the tissue types of patients in need of a transplant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
