On Friday, December 16th, life will be celebrated on Ban Josip Jela\u010di\u0107 Square. By organizing the sixth consecutive concert \u201cI Want Life\u201d the Ana Rukavina Foundation will once again thank all those citizens who have decided to make donations and thus selflessly help the Foundation’s mission \u2013 to save lives.<\/p>\n
The concert, by now a traditional event, will feature some of the best known Croatian pop stars, such as Novi Fosili, Miroslav \u0160koro, Prljavo Kazali\u0161ta, the Intrade klapa (male vocal band), Boris Novkovi\u0107, Luka Ni\u017eeti\u0107, Halid Be\u0161li\u0107, Ivana and Marija Husar and many others who will award our citizens with a memorable night of musical entertainment which will also be aired live on Nova TV. Moreover, during the concert, many Croatian public figures will be answering your calls made to our call-centre. The money collected in that way will be used to fund the future operation of the Foundation and the Cord Blood Bank. No amount is too small when it comes to the funding of further tissue typing of blood samples, a procedure necessary to make the Croatian Registry of hematopoietic stem cells as operational as possible and as conducive as possible to searches for unrelated bone marrow and stem cells donors.<\/p>\n
As many as 13 human lives have been saved so far owing to the Ana Rukavina Foundation. All citizens between the ages of 18 and 40 who wish to be entered in the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors will be able to do so on the same day, which is Friday, December 16th between 1 PM and 4 PM in a tent on the main square. All they will be asked to do is to fill out a registration form and provide a blood sample for HLA tissue typing. Well known faces from Nova TV and numerous friends of the Foundation, such as Ivana \u0160utej, Ivica Prtenja\u010da, Bojana Greguri\u0107, Roberta Zuber and Du\u0161ko Modrini\u0107, will appear as donors as well as sellers of the Foundation’s promotional material.<\/p>\n
By calling the humanitarian hotline number at 060 9000 before December 24th, citizens can donate 5 kuna (together with VAT the total cost of one call will be 6.15 kuna) and thus help save human lives.
