The 205th action in a row to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors will take place on Saturday, March 16th, from 12 PM to 2 PM at the premises of the “Više od Života” Association located at Baureova 2 in Zagreb. The action is being organized by the Adriatic Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry by filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing (the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen).
Every potential donor may save someone’s life because bone marrow transplantation can treat patients suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow. The motto of every action to join the Registry is – the cure is in us!
