Ana would be celebrating her 45th birthday today. She celebrated one of the most beautiful on her favorite trip to Cuba in 2004, a year before her battle for life began. She loved people, fell in love with Cuba, Cubans, and Cuban music, and they rewarded her with a modest celebration that she often enthusiastically recounted. She loved her family and friends, her journalistic vocation, and loved to write about people from the fringes of society, wanting to help them and bring their difficult destinies closer to the readers of Vjesnik. She loved the hazelnut ice cream. She loved and knew how to live life. Although she is no longer with us, her desire for life lives through the people who are thanks to her, with us today. That would make her indescribably happy. Happy birthday, Ana to the sounds of your favorite song.
