The Ana Rukavina Foundation will organize an action to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors on Saturday May 19th from 10 AM to 4 PM, in front of the Church of Saint Mary in Zadar. This action was initiated by Irene Đurković.
By joining the Registry, every citizen can become a potential donor, and this selfless act of civic solidarity can save someone’s life. Bone marrow transplantation can treat patients with acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow, and the cure for these serious diseases can be found in each one of us! Therefore, we invite all of the citizens of Zadar to join the Registry. All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry by filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing (the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen).
The action to join the Registry will be supported by musical performances by Bepo Matešić, Mihovil Mazija, Klapa Donat, Klapa Barufa, Klapa Bibinje, Klapa Vir, the Vladimir Nazor High School Ensemble and Tea Vidić.
