437 new potential donors join the Registry in Dalmatia

At the actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors which were held last weekend in Dalmatia, 437 potential donors joined the Registry, 150 in Šibenik, 201 in Split and 86 in Supetar on Brač, and by doing so they increased the chances of saving someone’s life.

We are sincerely grateful to our respective organizers: Suzana Huljev and Ivana Jurlin for organizing the action in Šibenik on Friday and for their hospitality in Primošten; our dear nurse from the Hematology Department of the Split Clinical Hospital Center, Anita Martinović Vranješ, who is responsible for the action and the wonderful welcome in Split on Saturday; and Mr. Pavo Bonačić-Proti who organized today’s action at the municipal branch of the Red Cross in Supetar on Brač and warmly welcomed us. We would also like to thank Mirna Juras and Mate Mladina for their great help in Supetar.

Of course, a great thank you goes out to all the young people who joined the Registry at the actions in Šibenik, Split and Supetar. They are the reason we organize these actions to join the Registry to remind everyone that bone marrow transplantation can treat patients suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow, and the cure for these serious diseases is in us!
