Dear friends, at the action held on October 21st, in cooperation with the branch of Croatian Association of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Zadar, in the Palace of the Rector’s Palace in Zadar, 39 new potential donors have joined Croatian Bone Marrow Donors Registry.
This action was held on the occasion of World Day of Awareness of Myelodysplastic Syndrome in which the Croatian Association of Leukemia and Lymphoma and the branch of HULL Zadar presented the project “Knowledge to Health” where home chemists from the field of hematology lectured on ways of treatment and the quality of life of the MDS patients.
A special lecture on life after the transplant was held by Mrs. Ana Mrčić, who had been suffering from MDS, but despite her illness, she continued to win the athletic discipline at the expense and is currently the current world champion in triple jump. Congratulations for Mrs. Mrcic and her inspirational story. We want her to recover as successfully as possible from the bottoms of our hearts!
Thanks to all those who get inspired by stories like Mrs. Mrčić’s and join to Croatian Registry, and thanks to our friends in Zadar for their excellent organization and the young people who have decided to enroll and help those to whom stem cells can mean a new opportunity for life!
