Action for a colleague that has leukemia in “Colonel Marko Živković” barrack at Pleso

Dear friends, today, in “Colonel Marko Živković” barrack at Pleso we had an action to join the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry. 38 members of Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, Croatian Army, and Support Command, between the age of 18 and 40 joined the Registry.

Action was helped organized, with approval of Ministry of Defence of Republic of Croatia, by 91. Air Base of Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, on the initiative from Corporal Ivan Kolić and Senior Sergeant Predrag Štefanek so they could help their colleague Mirko Plivelić who has leukemia and needs a transplant of hematopoietic stem cells for further treatment.

With this noble initiative and action, we continue our successful cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Republic of Croatia and Croatian Armed Force that lasts since 2012. and during which, in seven actions so far, more than 500 members of Croatian Armed Forces joined the Registry.

Thanks to this last initiative, we continue Ana’s mission of expanding the Registry so we could help sick people around the world and we sincerely hope that Mr. Mirko and all other who wait, soon find a matching donor.

We thank from the bottom of our hearts to all employees who joined the Registry and showed their civil solidarity for severely ill. We would also like to thank Ministry of Defence of Republic of Croatia, 91. Air Base of Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, and to Corporal Ivan Kolić and Senior Sergeant Predrag Štefanek for their initiative and help with organizing the action.
