On Wednesday, October 16, from 1 to 3 p.m., the Ana Rukavina Foundation, in cooperation with the City of Kaštela, will hold an event to enroll in the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
The Ana Rukavina Foundation will hold the action in the area of the City Administration (Braće Radić 1) in Kaštel Sućurac to help together the boy Filip who lives in the area of the city of Kaštel, as well as all sick people in search of a matching donor.
All healthy citizens between 18 and 40 can register in the Croatian Registry. The enrollment process includes filling out an application form and a health questionnaire and giving a 7 ml blood sample for HLA typing, which determines human leukocyte antigens. Enrollment in the Croatian Registry is the first step that needs to be completed to help severely ill patients with acute and chronic forms of leukemia and patients with severe bone marrow damage all over the world.
