On Thursday, May 22, from 12:00 to 14:00 at the Jelkovec Library (Vladimir Stahuljak 3) in Novi Jelkovac, the Ana Rukavina Foundation will hold an action to register in the Croatian Registry of Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors. The action in Novi Jelkovac will be held in cooperation with the Perspektiva Association and the Roma National Minority Council of the City of Zagreb in order to jointly help sick people in Croatia and the world in their search for a matching donor, with a special emphasis on including members of the Roma community, while being open to the general public. All healthy citizens aged 18 to 40 can register in the Croatian Registry. The registration process includes filling out an application form and a health questionnaire, and providing a blood sample for HLA typing, which determines tissue compatibility antigens. Registration in the Croatian Registry is the first step that needs to be completed in order to help seriously ill people with acute and chronic forms of leukemia and patients with severe bone marrow damage around the world.
