Ana and Marija Rukavina awarded the “Zeleni Karton” (Green Card)

On the occasion of The World Day of the Sick, which is marked on February 11th, the Croatian Patients’ Rights Movement (HPPP) has awarded the “Green Card” to the director of the Foundation, Marija Rukavina, and to the late Ana Rukavina.

This was reported by the president of the association, Prof. Mirko Štifanić, PhD. The Green Card award is given as a sign of recognition for achieving results in the protection of patients’ rights. The Croatian Patients’ Rights Movement protects and promotes the rights of patients as fundamental human rights and values by raising public awareness about the importance of respecting patients’ rights, making a commitment to the humanization of healthcare facilities and personnel, educating citizens and healthcare professionals about the rights of patients, collecting individual observations about the violation of patients’ rights, developing a culture of understanding and respecting the rights of patients, as well as providing information, advice and opinions to interested persons.

We would like to thank the HPPP and Prof. Štifanić for recognizing and awarding Ana’s wish to promote patients’ rights and the work done towards this goal by her mother Marija.
