Donors from Croatian Registry save 4 more lives!

In March 2012, four transplantations of hematopoietic stem cells were performed. Three transplantations were done on patients in Croatia and one on a patient abroad who had a related donor in Croatia.

According to the information we received today from the University Hospital Centre Zagreb – Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors – four donations of hematopoietic stem cells from donors listed in the Croatian Registry were successfully carried out in the month of March.

Until now, a total of 19 patients (11 in Croatia and 8 abroad) have been saved by voluntary non-related donors listed in the Croatian Registry.

On behalf of the Foundation, we would like to thank all the donors who have unselfishly answered the call to join the Registry by donating stem cells, and in that way have saved patients who are suffering terribly from leukemia.
