On Wednesday, September 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Ana Rukavina Foundation, in cooperation with Mrs. Marta Šurmanović and the City of Velika Gorica, will hold an event to register in the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry.

On September 15, we celebrate World Lymphoma Awareness Day. Lymphomas are malignant diseases whose tumor cells originate from the lymphatic system. It is a disease related to leukemia, and it is also caused by a malignant change of lymphocytes and their uncontrolled multiplication.

In August, a transplant of hematopoietic stem cells from a Croatian donor was performed for a patient from Croatia. Thanks to the selfless donors of hematopoietic stem cells, 181 sick people were given a chance to live! Many thanks to all the donors who decided to help.

The Clinical Institute for Transfusion Medicine and Transplantation Biology of University Hospital Centre Zagreb tissue typed 150 new samples of potential donor sin August. Currently, the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry has 64.266 tissue-typed donors. A big thank you to all the selfless potential donors who joined the Croatian Registry to give hope for recovery to strangers.

At the event of enrollment in the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry, held today at the Vukovar Health Center, 230 potential donors joined the Croatian Registry to help the young Vukovar resident Damir, as well as everyone else who is looking for a matching donor.
