Thanks to Štarkelj Auto Salon
Today we were overflowing with emotions at Štarkelj Auto Salon as we returned the Renault Traffic which Mr. Štarkelj had lent us for the purpose of organizing actions to join the Registry. Without the donation of the van, in which we passed 44,303 km all around Croatia, it would have been difficult to successfully carry out 160 actions in some 90 locations. It has been extremely tough on us because we were reminded of all the wonderful people who helped to organize our actions and the lines of people who wished to join the first Croatian Registry of voluntary bone marrow and stem cell donors.
>>→Person of the Dialogue – Person of the Year 2007
Marija Rukavina, the director of the Ana Rukavina Foundation, accepted another worthy award yesterday on behalf of the Foundation. The recognition of “Person of the Dialogue – Person of the Year” is given by the Croatian Academic Society Split – Man Above All, a non-profit organization whose principal goal is to promote Christian values and thus to contribute to the prosperity of society and individuals. The Society has recognized the Foundation as an organization which contributes to the quality of life in Croatia.
>>→Zagreb Police Administration
The major event held at the Zagreb Police Administration in order to add names to the Registry of voluntary bone marrow donors has concluded the first round of cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and the Ana Rukavina Foundation. Today, 139 new donor names have been added to the Registry. Since May 2007, the Ana Rukavina Foundation has gone to a total of 19 Police Administrations throughout our beautiful country and has added almost 3,000 names of the professionals of the Ministry of the Interior to the Registry.

The Foundation’s public tenders make a major contribution to the personal professional development of the grantees, the environment in which they work and the well-being of the patients they treat – thus a contribution of great importance to the environment in which we live.
Barbara Dreta, M.D.
I believe that these forms of education are the most significant ways of establishing long-term education, which will leave a lasting mark in the way of considering possible approaches in the treatment of the patient and their implementation.
Zinaida Perić, M.D., PhD
Professional training is an absolute necessity and even more of a necessity in an area such as hematology, especially in methods that are developing as rapidly as bone marrow transplantation. There was no similar organization in Croatia before, and the Ana Rukavina Foundation provided young hematologists with a unique opportunity to gain new knowledge, thus improving care for hematology patients.
Nevenka Cigrovski, M.D.
The funds allocated by the Ana Rukavina Foundation for professional training abroad are a true investment in the future of Croatian healthcare. These educations are an excellent opportunity for young doctors, but also a great contribution to the future of the entire Croatian healthcare system.
Ana Zelić Kerep, M.D.
Going to the US was a dream come true thanks to the support of the Ana Rukavina Foundation. The foundation recognized the importance of investing in young doctors and I was one of the lucky ones to get the opportunity.
Vibor Milunović, M.D.
Public tenders for international training are a commendable activity of the Ana Rukavina Foundation because there is no systematic training within the healthcare system for young hematologists. By providing funding, the Foundation provides a continuing opportunity for young physicians to educate abroad, thereby opening unprecedented opportunities for physicians to advance professionally.
