Dear friends, we are pleased to show you photographs of the renovated Ana Rukavina Park in Šibenik which was officially opened on Ana’s birthday, March 28, 2014.
The park was landscaped at the initiative of the Women’s Association “Katarina Zrinski” and the former mayor of Šibenik, Neda Klarić. Also, the former members of the City Council of Šibenik and the members of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) used donations from sponsors to revamp the park.
We are sincerely grateful to the city of Šibenik and the current mayor, Dr. Željko Burić, for including the renovation of the Ana Rukavina Park, which bears the name of our dear Ana, with the projects of organizing the pedestrian zone and planning vehicle access to St. Michael’s Fortress.
The initiative for the Ana Rukavina Park was launched with the intention of being a sort of meeting place for young people and a place to hold literary evenings and artistic programs by drama groups, and we hope that with the new design it will become just that. We know that Ana would be especially pleased.
