The Ana Rukavina Foundation held the jubilee 500th event of enrollment in the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry on Saturday, October 5 in Ivanić-Grad on the occasion of the 20th Bučijada jubilee, which was joined by 28 potential donors.
This action was held on the initiative of Mr. Tomislav Cuvaj, Deputy Mayor of Ivanić-Grad, and it is the 8th action of registration in the Croatian Registry in Ivanić-Grad, to help sick people in the search for a matching donor in cooperation with the Ana Rukavina Foundation. In eight actions held in Ivanić-Grad, almost 600 citizens joined the Croatian Registry.
The Ana Rukavina Foundation is endlessly grateful to all co-organizers throughout Croatia who helped us expand the large family of potential donors to 66,979. Thanks to the efforts of the Ana Rukavina Foundation and noble donors from the Croatian Registry, 181 sick people were given hope for life, and the Foundation thanks all the donors who selflessly responded to the call from the Croatian Registry.
We thank the City of Ivanić-Grad for the invitation, the mayor Mr. Javor Bojan Leš, and the deputy mayor Mr. Tomislav Cuvaj for their help in organizing the action, the laboratory assistant Dragana Vrbić who helped our Dženana in taking the samples, Dr. Sanja Marić, Jadranka Baričević, the head nurse of the Health Center Ivanić-Grad, dear Marta Baričević who three years ago donated her stem cells to a sick person from Argentina, and of course, all the young people who joined us to help those in need of a matching donor.
The 500th action to join the Croatian Registry since the beginning of the Ana Rukavina Foundation was held in Ivanić-Grad!
