World Lymphoma Awareness Day – September 15th

On the occasion of World Lymphoma Awareness Day on September 15th, the Ana Rukavina Foundation and the Croatian Leukemia and Lymphoma Association have organized a number of activities on Cvjetni Trg in order to raise public awareness of this difficult, and unfortunately, not so uncommon disease.

September 15th – Trg Petra Preradovića (Cvjetni Trg):

ANA RUKAVINA FOUNDATION – has organized an action to collect blood samples for tissue typing and to join the Registry of voluntary bone marrow donors; from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Information booths will be set up from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

THE CROATIAN LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA ASSOCIATION has organized an educational presentation about lymphoma which will start at 6:00 PM in the Cultural Information Center (Preradovićeva 5).

Presenters:
Professor Igor Aurer, MD, PhD – University Hospital Center Zagreb: New research for treating lymphoma
Professor Slobodanka Ostojić Kolonić, MD, PhD – Merkur University Hospital: Quality of life of patients with lymphoma, continues with patients’ stories
Ljiljana Pomper, BSN- Merkur University Hospital: Therapy of malignant hematological diseases – unwanted side effects and coping measures

There is no way of detecting this disease early, therefore the only way of detecting lymphoma is through education and public awareness of lymphoma as one of the less familiar diseases.

Come join us and support our work!
