The humanitarian event for the Ana Rukavina Foundation brought together three musicians from completely different backgrounds to perform a concert to a sold out audience in Dražen Petrović Hall on November 30th. The proceeds from the concert enabled the Foundation to tissue type 100 new blood samples.
On Friday night, in the packed Dražen Petrović Hall in Zagreb, the concert “Night to Remember” featured the well-known tenor José Carreras, the American pop icon Michael Bolton and Tony Cetinski. The event began with Bashkim Shehu’s song “Dolce suono”, which was recorded by Carreras and Cetinski as a duet. It ended with the appearance of the Croatian Symphony Orchestra and the Big Band, conducted by David Gimenez. The program was divided into two parts, each half lasting 40 minutes. Each participant performed a few solo pieces, starting with Carreras singing “Marechiare”. He also performed a duet with each of the other participants, “Some Enchanted Evening” with Bolton and “Dolce suono” with Cetinski. The stars of the “Night to Remember” said their goodbyes to the audience with Di Lazzaro’s “Chitarra romana” (Carreras), Charles’s “Georgia on my mind” (Bolton), Di Capuo’s “0 sole mio” (Cetinski), and Berlin’s “White Christmas” performed together.

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank maestro José Carreras, Michael Bolton, Tony Cetinski, the Symphony Orchestra and the Big Band, and everyone else who participated in this “Night to Remember”. A special thanks to the organizers of the concert whose donation of 100,000 Kuna to the Foundation enables us to finance the tissue typing of 100 new blood samples.
Maestro José Carreras and Tony Cetinski waived their copyrights to the song “Dolce suono” (Sweet sounds), and the organizer donated 30,000 CDs with that beautiful song to the Foundation. During this time of gift giving, we invite everyone to cheer up those most dear to you, your friends and business partners with this CD and at the same time help the further work of the Foundation.
