The wonderful ambiance of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Palmotićeva 31 was the perfect setting in which to experience the “Prayer for Life” concert of sacral music that was held on June 1st
The performers and respected audience were greeted by the Foundation’s Director, Mrs. Marija Rukavina. This was followed by the opening of the concert by our excellent opera singer, Berislav Puškarić, who performed a piece by Ivan Lukačić: Coeli enarrant. Afterwards came beautiful compositions by Lukačić, Jelić, Bruckner, Rossini and others, which were performed by Želimir, Berislav and Ljubomir Puškarić, the city choir “Franjo Von Lučič” from Velika Gorica, under the director’s baton of Professor Dubravka Veliki, and with organ accompaniment by Eva Kirchmayer Bilić and Marijana Komljenović. At the end, the overjoyed audience showed the performers their appreciation with a thunderous applause.
This event raised more than 3,000 Kuna in donations for the Foundation, for which we are truly grateful to the performers, Father Marijan Steiner and the wonderful audience.
