On March 8th, International Women’s Day, for the third year in a row, the Women’s Forum of Kutina organized an action in order to raise money for tissue typing blood samples of potential bone marrow.
As in the previous years, the entire region of Sisak-Moslavina County spent the weekend celebrating International Women’s Day. Some celebrated in a more formal and official environment, while others celebrated in a more spontaneous and festive way.
In Kutina the holiday was marked by a humanitarian action for the benefit of the Ana Rukavina Foundation and with an exhibition of paintings titled “Women and Creativity”, which were organized by SDP’s Women’s Forum. The fundraising for the purpose of tissue typing blood samples started on Saturday with the sale of flowers and continued with a program at the Arcus Club, where Biserka Bojić, the president of the Women’s Forum, reminded everyone about the history and meaning of International Women’s Day. The singing group “Seljačka sloga” performed, as well as the choir of the Retirement Association and the pupils of Kutina Technical School. This was coordinated with the exhibit of amateur painters titled “Women and Creativity”, which displayed works by painters from Kutina, such as Dunja Koruga, Lidija vukas Veliki, Branka Vrbanić, Ivanka Pavličić Kovačević, Miroslava Pavlović and Vlatka Vidiček Dam.
