The 193rd action to join the Registry of voluntary donors will take place on Ban Josip Jelačić Square in Zagreb on Saturday, June 16th from 12 PM to 3 PM.
On Sunday, June 17th we will be on Korzo in Varaždin from 11 AM to 2 PM for the 194th action to join the Registry.
We invite all the citizens of Zagreb and Varaždin to contribute to saving lives by joining the Registry. Every new donor who joins the Registry increases the chances of finding a non-related donor and saving someone’s life. Bone marrow transplantation can treat patients with acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow.
All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry by filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing (the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen).
The action in Varaždin on Sunday brings our springtime cycle of actions to join the Registry to a close. If you are able, come to the main square in Zagreb on Saturday or to Korzo in Varaždin on Sunday and become a potential donor of hematopoietic stem cells.
