An action to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors will be held on Monday, December 2nd, from 10 AM to 12 PM, on the premises of the Stjepan Radić Student Dorms (Jarunska 2) in Zagreb.
By holding this action, the Ana Rukavina Foundation is supporting the Youth Peer Education Network. Over a period of ten days, starting on December 1st when the world commemorates World AIDS Day, until December 10th when Human Rights Day is celebrated, a series of actions called “10 Days of Youth Activism” encourages young people to participate in protecting their health and promoting human rights and education.
All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry by filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing (the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen).
Every potential donor can save someone’s life because bone marrow transplantation can treat patients with acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow. The motto of all our actions to join the Registry is – the cure is in us!
