On Thursday, April 3rd, at the action held in Lipovljani to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors, a total of 95 citizens joined the Registry and thereby demonstrated their civil solidarity in action.
By donating blood at the action to join the Registry, which was organized by the Ana Rukavina Foundation at the initiative of Mrs. Dubravka Hubak and with the help of the Women’s Association of HSS “Hrvatsko Srce” Lipovljani, the citizens supported the mission of the Foundation which is to continue to expand the Registry and in that way continue to offer the hope of saving lives around the world.
The motto of each of our actions to join the Registry, which are held throughout Croatia, is “The cure is in us”. In this way the Foundation wants to once again remind the citizens that we each carry the cure with which we can save the lives of those patients suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow. One only has to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors, and if HLA compatibility is determined with a person who is suffering, we can help them be cured.
We are sincerely grateful to Mrs. Hubak, the organizers from the Women’s Association of HSS “Hrvatsko Srce” Lipovljani, the nurses who volunteered and helped collect blood samples, as well as all the other volunteers for their extremely friendly welcome and well organized action.
Of course, a big thank you to all the young people who came and joined the Registry and by doing so will hopefully help the sick.
