On Tuesday, September 30th, the Ana Rukavina Foundation held an action to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors in Zagreb as part of Bundekfest.
All the visitors of Bundekfest who responded to the call and joined the Registry contributed to saving those that are severely ill in Croatia and abroad.
The Foundation organized this action with the help of Zagreb Concert Management, which not only helped us organize the action but also ensured a tent for it. We would like to sincerely thank them for their help.
We would like to remind you about the action to join the Registry being held tomorrow, October 2nd, in Pakrac on Trg. Dr. Franje Tuđmana from 10 AM to 12 PM. We are organizing the action with the help of the Palliative Care Team “LiPa” and Mrs. Ljerka Pavković, who asked for help in organizing the action which was prompted by the story about young Dora Perčin, who is suffering from acute myelomonocytic leukemia and is in need of a stem cell transplantation. We hope she will soon find a non-related donor.
All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry and by doing so can contribute to saving the lives of those who are suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow. The process to join the Registry includes filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing which is the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen.
Come, join the Registry and increase the chances of curing all those patients that are suffering!
