The Association of Croatian Patients and the “For a New Day” association presented a new brochure at the Zrinjevac Park pavilion earlier today. The brochure’s title is “A Little Book of Instructions for Patients Suffering from Malignatnt Diseases”.
The Association of Croatian Patients and the “For a New Day” association presented a new brochure at the Zrinjevac Park pavilion earlier today. The brochure’s title is “A Little Book of Instructions for Patients Suffering from Malignant Diseases”.
The brochure is intended for people suffering from malignant diseases, their family members and friends. It is the brainchild of patients and their closest ones who have cooperated with their doctors – oncologists, in order to put the brochure together. The members of the association would like to thank all those who have worked selflessly and contributed towards its publication.
During the presentation of the brochure, the medical director of the Foundation, Assistant Professor Mirando Mrsić, M.D. said amongst other things:
“Not all of us have had the experience of being in a patient’s bed or standing next to it. These are two different aspects of the same situation and the difference between them, which may be measured in meters or even centimeters, is not something that will teach you about any historical truths or reveal the secret of life. However, if you do find yourself in that bed, rather than standing by it, you have very few wishes: to have a normal body temperature, not to feel any pain, to be able to look after yourself and to get WELL. For these, somewhat selfish reasons, this text authored by the patients themselves, is not only their personal experiences but also an instruction manual, of sorts, telling you how to cope with a disease, diagnostic procedures and, obviously, therapy treatment”.
The “For a New Day” association invites citizens to come to the fashion and music events, “Summer Evenings at Zrinjevac” that will take place from Thursday, July 17 to Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 6 P.M. The association also invites you to drop by the association’s stand where you can sign a petition for the highest quality, specialist-recommended treatment of chronic, serious and rare diseases at the expense of the HZZO (Croatian Institute for Health Insurance).
