Two actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors will be held on Friday, September 13th. The first action will take place in Korenica at the municipal branch of the Red Cross Plitvička Jezera from 10 AM to 12 PM.
The second action will take place in Perušić at the Municipal Building of Perušić from 2 PM to 4 PM.
We are especially pleased that we will have two actions in Lika, one in Perušić, the birthplace of our director and Ana’s mother, Mrs. Marija Rukavina.
All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry by filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing (the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen).
The motto of every action to join the Registry is – the cure is in us! Thus, the Foundation would like to remind citizens that each of us carries the “cure” with which we can save someone’s life because by joining the Registry we become potential saviors of those people who are suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow.
