Dear friends, at the end of this week and the beginning of next week you can expect another two actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors. The first action will be held in Marija Bistrica in the Culture Center on Saturday, October 25th, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. The second action will take place in Zagreb at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) on Monday, October 27th, from 12 PM to 2 PM.
We are organizing the action in Marija Bistrica at the initiative and with the help of the Committee on Health and Social Welfare of the Marija Bistrica Municipality and Dr. Sanja Kovačić in the Culture Center of Marija Bistrica from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. We are organizing the action at FER at the initiative of the student Ida Penezić, and it will take place from 12 PM to 2 PM.
All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry and by doing so can contribute to saving the lives of those who are suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow. The process to join the Registry includes filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing which is the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen.
