Dear friends, after our summer break, we are starting with new actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors.
The first action will take place in Zagreb at the Children’s Hospital Zagreb (Klaićeva 16) on Wednesday, September 24th from 11 AM to 1 PM. The second action will be in Pag at the Meridijan Hotel on Friday, September 26th from 12 PM to 3 PM.
The action in Zagreb will be organized with the help of Mrs. Ivana Miškulin who approached us with a proposal to organize yet another action to follow the first successful action at the Children’s Hospital Zagreb which was organized in January 2012. As for the action on the island of Pag, this will be organized at the invitation and with the help of Mrs. Vlatka Oguić Dragoslavić who approached us with a proposal to organize an action in the city of Pag. We thank both of our organizers for their initiative and for showing the desire to help those that are suffering by organizing actions to join the Registry.
All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry and by doing so can contribute to saving the lives of those who are suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow. The process to join the Registry includes filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing which is the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen.
