Ana Rukavina Foundation donated one million kunas for the construction of a sterile unit of the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb

Dear friends, by the Decision of the Board of Trustees The Ana Rukavina Foundation donated one million kunas to the Department of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation of the Clinic for Pediatrics of the University Hospital Centre Zagreb to equip one sterile unit.
In cooperation with the Foundation – Pediatric Oncology Rebro and the University Hospital Centre Zagreb, the construction of a new space of the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology is in progress, as the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology is currently located at the inadequate space on the ground floor of the University Hospital Centre Zagreb building.

“We are grateful and happy that with the help of our citizens and their calls to our charity number in December during the charity event “I want life”, we made this donation of one million kunas to provide our youngest with better and more quality treatment conditions,” said Marija Rukavina. manager of the Ana Rukavina Foundation.

The project envisages the construction and equipping of six sterile units for the youngest patients with malignant diseases and immunodeficiency intended for their treatment after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Additional funds are needed to continue the construction, so the Ana Rukavina Foundation decided to help University Hospital Centre Zagreb with a donation to this commendable project by equipping a sterile unit.
