As a result of Open Heart Day, which we organized for the third year in a row in memory of Ana’s premature departure, the Registry now includes another 215 new potential stem cell donors.

3rd Open Heart Day
Dear friends, to commemorate the day of Ana’s premature departure, this year we will once again organize the “Open Heart Day” event, which will take place on Thursday, November 27, 2014 from 10 AM to 6 PM at the premises of the Ana Rukavina Foundation (Kneza Mislava 10/1, Zagreb).

At the award ceremony for the award “Luka Ritz” – Violence is Not Courage, which was held yesterday in Zagreb at the Old City Hall, awards were given to Luka Mihalić, posthumously, and volunteer Barbara Rubinić.

The 4th grade students at the Starigrad Primary School in Starigrad Paklenica, with the help of their teacher Ljiljana Jović, organized a humanitarian workshop titled, “A Flower from Stone for Ana” for the Ana Rukavina Foundation.

At another action to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors, which was held today in cooperation with the students at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, a total of 55 new potential donors joined the Registry.

At the action to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors that was held yesterday at the Edward Bernays College for Communication Management, a total of 30 potential new donors joined the Registry.

Dear friends, this week we will have two more actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors. Both actions will take place in Zagreb. The first one will be at the Edward Bernays College for Communication Management on Wednesday, November 5th from 4 PM to 6 PM. The second action will take place at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University Campus Borongaj on Friday, November 7th from 10 AM to 12 PM.

A total of 82 potential new donors joined the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors at the action that was held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in Zagreb.
>>48 new donors at the action in Marija Bistrica and 1,015 new samples undergo HLA tissue typing
At the action to join the Registry which was held on Saturday, October 25th, with the help of the Committee on Health and Social Welfare of the Marija Bistrica Municipality and Dr. Sanja Kovačić, the Registry was expanded by a total of 48 voluntary donors of hematopoietic stem cells.

Dear friends, at the end of this week and the beginning of next week you can expect another two actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors. The first action will be held in Marija Bistrica in the Culture Center on Saturday, October 25th, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. The second action will take place in Zagreb at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) on Monday, October 27th, from 12 PM to 2 PM.
