Today is International Children’s Cancer Day, which aims to raise awareness about children with cancer and express support for children and adolescents with cancer, as well as their families.
How can you help? Among other things, by registering in the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry if you are in good health and between the ages of 18 and 40, thereby increasing the chances of recovery for children, as well as adults, suffering from leukemia, lymphoma and other severe bone marrow disorders who need a bone marrow transplant.
You can register at one of the events organized by the Ana Rukavina Foundation, at the Department of Tissue Typing of the University Hospital Centre Zagreb (green building, room no. 9, basement) on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at eight transfusion centers in the Republic of Croatia.
Also, future parents can decide to donate cord blood stem cells to the Ana Rukavina Public Cord Blood Bank, and you can find more about cord blood stem cell donation on our website.
We wish the little heroes who are bravely fighting heart disease a speedy and successful recovery!
