International Day of Children Suffering from Malignant Diseases

February 15, 2010 is the International Day of Children Suffering from Malignant Diseases. More than 180 children are diagnosed with some type of malignant disease in the Republic of Croatia every year. Out of every three sick children, two will be cured.

On that day, the Krijesnica Association will host the premiere of the documentary film “The Children of Krijesnica” at 6 PM at the Movieplex Cinema in Kaptol Centar. There are no more available tickets, as the 309-seat cinema is full.

Even more important than this is that the donation hotline number 060 9015 has been set up. By calling the number you will donate 5 kuna (6.15 kuna including VAT) to the Krijesnica Association. The aim is to raise 150,000.00 kuna for the maintenance of the rehabilitation camp and the production of an educational CD which will explain to children how diseases develop, how they are treated, which tests are necessary and how the children can get through the experience of receiving treatment for malignant diseases with the least amount of trauma. The action to raise funds will last until June 1, 2010.

The people at Krijesnica call upon you to call the donation hotline number and support true heroes – the children who have survived a malignant disease and those children who are now fighting the most difficult battle.
