At today’s press conference on the occasion of the National Day for Donation and Transplantation of Organs and Tissue, which is marked on May 26th, the Ana Rukavina Foundation and the Ministry of Health announced the new possibilities of joining the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors at transfusion centers in nine Croatian cities.

A total of 162 citizens joined the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors at the two actions that were held on Thursday, May 23rd in Knin.

At the action to join the Registry that was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia (MORH) yesterday in Požega at the barracks of the Croatian Army’s 123rd Brigade Požega, a total of 184 potential donors of hematopoietic stem cells joined the Registry.

An action to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors will take place on Monday, May 13th from 10 AM to 12 PM at the premises of the University of Applied Health Studies at Mlinarska Cesta 38 (Hall 6) in Zagreb.

At the actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors which were held last weekend in Dalmatia, 437 potential donors joined the Registry, 150 in Šibenik, 201 in Split and 86 in Supetar on Brač, and by doing so they increased the chances of saving someone’s life.

The Ana Rukavina Foundation has organized three actions in Dalmatia this week to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors.

At today’s actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors which were held in Vrbovec and Sisak, 173 potential donors joined the Registry, 40 in Vrbovec and 133 in Sisak, and in that way increased the chances of saving someone’s life.

At the second Memorial Badminton Tournament in memory of Saša Vukas, which was held on Saturday, May 4th, a total of 1,540 kuna was raised for the Ana Rukavina Foundation. We are sincerely grateful to Saša’s family and friends for the money they raised and donated to the Ana Rukavina Foundation.

Next week, on Tuesday, May 7th, two actions to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors will be held. The first will take place in Vrbovec from 9 AM to 11 AM at the premises of HNS Vrbovec at Buban 10. The second will take place in Sisak from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Sisak Retirement Home at Oktavijana Augusta 3.
