1000 new bone marrow and stem cell donors tissue typed

In the period from May 20, 2011 to June 16, 2011, there were 1000 new blood samples from stem cell donors tissue typed using the molecular method for HLA loci A, B, and DRB1.

Out of the total of 33,354 donors listed in the Registry, until today 23,575 of them have been HLA tissue typed. There are still 9,779 blood samples from potential donors which remain to be tissue typed.

We would like to thank everyone who has enabled us to get closer to achieving our goal of tissue typing all of the collected blood samples so that the Croatian Registry is as operational and accessible as possible to search for non-related bone marrow and stem cell donors.
