On Tuesday, in the fully packed main hall of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, at the third “Concert for Life”, the Zagreb Philharmonic performed Carmina Burana by Carl Orff in memory of Ana Rukavina and maestro Šutej. The wonderful music was enjoyed by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Ivo Josipović, under whose high auspices the concert was held. The ticket sales ensured almost 140,000 kuna, which is intended for the Foundation and their goal of continuing to HLA tissue type blood samples from potential donors, as well as provide education regarding the importance of donating bone marrow and stem cells. Since the beginning of the Foundation’s activities donated blood samples have saved nine lives, which is the greatest worth of Ana’s legacy!

The first-class young maestro from Hong Kong, Perry So, and soloists Ivana Lazar (soprano), Ljubomir Puškarić (baritone) and Marko Cvetko (tenor) awarded the audience with as many as four encores, while a special ovation was received by the Ivan Goran Kovačić Academic Choir and the musicians of the Zagreb Philharmonic.
