Action to join the Registry in Čakovec

On Wednesday, May 21st, an action to join the Registry of voluntary hematopoietic stem cell donors will be held in Čakovec at the Polytechnic of Međimurje (Ulica bana Josipa Jelačića 22 a) from 11 AM to 1 PM.

As part of the 247th action to join the Registry, which we are organizing at the initiative of Professor Mirjana Trstenjak, the students will be able to find out more about joining the Registry and what it means to be a potential stem cell donor at a presentation being given by the head of the Registry, Mirta Mikulić, PhD, from 10 AM to 11 AM.

All healthy people between the ages of 18 and 40 can join the Registry and by doing so can contribute to saving the lives of those who are suffering from acute and chronic forms of leukemia, as well as patients with severely damaged bone marrow. The process to join the Registry includes filling in an application form and a medical questionnaire and giving a blood sample for HLA tissue typing which is the procedure for determining the tissue compatibility antigen.

Dear people of Međimurje, we hope to see as many of you as possible on Wednesday!
