On the occasion of the World Bone Marrow Donor Day, Ana Rukavina Foundation organized a lecture for final grade students in the Archdiocesan Classical Gymnasium with the support of the Principal Prof. Ljuba Duvnjak and Prof. Ana Knežević-Hesky.
On Wednesday, September 19th, a lecture was given by Ms. Marija Rukavina, Ana Rukavina Foundation Manager and Dr. Ana Zelić Kerep, a hematologist from University Hospital Center Zagreb, and a doctor who was selected in the 2016 Public tender for the allocation of funds for professional training by the Ana Rukavina Foundation to familiarize students with the process of donating bone marrow and peripheral stem cells.
The Ana Rukavina Foundation has so far held an action to enroll in Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry at Archdiocesan Classical Gymnasium for the generations of students of 2016 and 2017, which have responded in great number to the invitation to join the Croatian Registry. When marking the World Bone Marrow Donor Day, we wanted to introduce new generations of students to the work of the Croatian Registry and to motivate and educate them about donating bone marrow to save one’s life.
Thanks to the students who responded to the lecture, Prof. Ana Knežević-Hesky, and Principal Prof. Ljuba Duvnjak. We look forward to the future cooperation and we hope that today’s lecture motivated them to join the Croatian Registry!
