The Ana Rukavina Foundation donated 500 tests for HLA typing to the University Hospital Centre Zagreb

Dear friends, The Ana Rukavina Foundation procured 500 tests for HLA typing of samples of potential donors who entered the Croatian Bone Marrow Donor Registry on February 2, 2021, in Vinkovci, prompted by a call for help in finding an unrelated donor for a seven-year-old girl, Lucija Šuvaković from Vinkovci suffering from acute myeloid leukemia. Given the urgency of the situation, the Ana Rukavina Foundation donated the tests to University Hospital Centre Zagreb, ie the Tissue Typing Department, and on Friday, February 5, the first 300 tests were sent to the Tissue Typing Department. The remaining 200 tests will be delivered in a short time.
Funds from the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia have been provided for the remaining samples of potential donors, and after the procurement procedure in University Hospital Centre Zagreb will be typed according to the regular procedure.
We wish little, brave Lucija and all the others who are waiting from the bottom of our hearts to find a matching donor as soon as possible, and a fast and successful recovery.
