Neki Novi Klinci (Some New Kids) – a band that plays tribute to Đorđe Balašević by performing the music of the most popular singer-songwriter in this region, will play at the IN BAR near the Sava River, Jarunska 5, on November 19, 2009. The proceeds from the performance will go to benefit the Ana Rukavina Foundation.

Karlovac: 87 new donors join the Croatian Registry
The action in Karlovac was organized by the members of the Karlovac County HDZ Women’s Association “Katarina Zrinska”.

In order to reach the goal of increasing the number of potential bone marrow and stem cell donors, a number of organizers have helped us with our work. This time the organizer of the action is the County Board of the HDZ Women’s Association “Katarina Zrinski” for the county of Karlovac.

The doctors of the Medical School and the University Clinical Hospital in Mostar have showed that they are not only good doctors, but excellent actors as well. On October 25, 2009, in front of a full house at the city theater Komedija, they put on a performance of Molière’s comedy “The Imaginary Invalid”. All of the proceeds from the ticket sales went to the Ana Rukavina Foundation, which was just another confirmation of the nobility and humanity of those in the medical profession.

For the third year in a row, the organizers of the Top Ten Karate Fest will donate the ticket proceeds to the Ana Rukavina Foundation.

The 1st ANA RUKAVINA SYMPOSIUM dedicated to the activities connected to the operations of the Croatian Registry of voluntary bone marrow and stem cell donors and the Ana Rukavina Cord Blood Bank will be held within the framework of the symposium “5th Transfusion Days” which is being organized by the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy at University Hospital Center Zagreb and the Croatian Society for Hematology and Transfusion Medicine of the Croatian Medical Association!

At an action in sisak to jin the Registry, the names of 51 new bone marrow donors were added!

In a short period of time, another stem cell donation from the Croatian Registry of voluntary bone marrow donors has been used for a patient suffering from leukemia.

On the occasion of World Lymphoma Awareness Day, the Ana Rukavina Foundation and the Croatian Leukemia and Lymphoma Association organized a number of activities on Cvjetni Trg in order to raise public awareness of this difficult, and unfortunately, not so uncommon disease. Educational presentations for the citizens, which were held in the Cultural Information Center, were given by some of the most qualified experts in the field of hematology in Croatia: Professor Igor Auer, MD, PhD, from the University Hospital Center Zagreb, and Professor Slobodanka Ostojić, MD, PhD, and Ljiljana Pomper, BSN, from the Merkur University Hospital.
